Getting Feedback

A$ free

The process of getting feedback from your participants can be scary and frustrating,
or exciting and rewarding.

IDEA 1: Ensure you have plenty of feedback forms in your trainer’s kit. If you plan for a group of 12 and end up with 18, it is embarrassing to run short.
IDEA 2: Many organisations now use online surveys to get feedback, at times this does not get a substantial response. Why not ask before the session finishes. Paste up a 2 flip chart sheets, ask everyone to grab a pen and write up one thing they have gain from the session, and one thing they would still like to know.
IDEA 3: If you are not a trainer who uses feedback forms, perhaps consider some index cards in your kit. Have the cards on the table and mention through the session you would like capture some feedback on what they have gained and things they would like to know. Remind them the feedback is anonymous, and generally you will gather a card from everyone.
IDEA 4: If you run full day workshops, ask participants to share one new idea at the end of each session before a break. This means you gain feedback throughout the day.
