Using Basic Graphics

A$ free

Using basic graphics on the white board or on flip chart sheets to gather feedback can add some extra interest from the audience.

Consider what feedback you are going to request and use a simple shape to encourage participation.

IDEA 1: If you are encouraging the audience to share five important facts or issues, consider drawing a hand on the board with each finger pointing to a key fact or issue. This means you need to gather at least 5 points from the audience.

IDEA 2: If you need to gather information about  steps in a process, consider drawing a ladder with each rung representing a step. This will guide the group in how many steps you are looking for when exploring the process.

IDEA 3: Arrows are simple to draw and if made wide enough, you can add the information within the arrow. Working with groups to define goals, or establish direction can work most effectively using this graphic.

Practice the shape so you feel confident to write up on the board.

Alternatively, prepare flip chart sheets before the session .
